CMS announced that the HHVBP Model has been certified for expansion through rulemaking beginning no sooner than Calendar Year (CY) 2022.
CMS Office of the Actuary has certified that Home Health Value-Based Purchasing (HHVBP) model would likely improve the quality of care for Medicare Beneficiaries without denying or limiting coverage or provision of Benefits.
The overall purpose of the HHVBP Model is to improve the quality and delivery of home health care services to Medicare beneficiaries with specific goals to:
Provide incentives for better quality care with greater efficiency.
study new potential quality and efficiency measures for appropriateness in the home health setting; and,
enhance the current public reporting process.
